Stringlength 600-890 mm.

Body made of 15 ribs of snakewood or riorosewood with triple w/b/w spacers. The lower and upper necks are veneered with stripes of ebony and snakewood or riorosewood with w/b/w spacers, the fingerboard is made of ebony. The pegs are of bone or ebony. The more elaborated version, with floral marquetry of ivory and snakewood on the lower and upper necks is available as well.
Tieffenbrucker, 1630

Stringlength 650-1300 mm.


Body made of 9 ribs of yew-wood, or snakewood, or riorosewood with white spacers. The neck and pegbox are veneered with ebony, the fingeboard is made of ebony. Ebonypegs and button.

This is an "entry" model, not too expensive. The pictured are referred to the original from Siena that I have restored.

Magno Tieffenbrucker, 1610

Stringlength 670-1420 mm.


Body made of 31 ribs of riorosewood with white spacers or yew-wood with golden-brown varnish. Triple rosette, triple binding on the edge of the belly, and ivory-heart inserted into ebony on the bottom part of the belly. The neck and upper neck are veneered with stripes of ebony and snakewood with white spacers. The fingerboard is made of ebony or of a central panel of ebony or snakewood surrounded by ebony. The pegs are made of ebony.

Pietro Railich, 1644

Stringlength 640-1650 mm.

Body made of 15 ribs of snakewood or riorosewood with white spacers. The lower and upper neck are veneered with stripes of ebony and snakewood with white spacers. The fingerboard is made with three central panels of ebony or snakewood surrounded by ebony and white spacers. The pegs can be made of ebony or bone.

V. Venere, 1611

Stringlength 760-1350 mm.


The body is made of 31 ribs of yew-wood with golden-brown varnish. Triple rosette and ivory heart inserted into ebony on the bottom of the belly. The lower and upper necks and are veneered with ebony, the fingerboard is made of ebony. Ebonypegs and button. More decorations available if wanted, also available a shorter string length, 700-1300 mm.
Matteo Sellas, 1647, 18 courses

Stringlength 840-1600 mm.


Body made of 31 ribs of yew-wood with white spacers. The lower and upper necks are veneered with stripes of ebony with a white filet inserted, the fingeboard is made of a central panel of ebony surrounded by ebony with a triple filet inserted. Ebonypegs and button.
Buckenberg, 1608

Stringlength 880-1650 mm.


Body made of 39 ribs of yew-wood or snakewood or riorosewood with white spacers. The lower and upper necks are veneered with stripes of ebony and snakewood or riorosewood, the fingeboard is made of a central panel of ebony surrounded by ebony or riorosewood with a triple filet inserted. Ebonypegs and button. Very nice instrument.
M. Tieffenbrucker, 1655

Stringlength 820-1640 mm.


Body made of 35 ribs of yew-wood or snakewood or riorosewood with white spacers. The lower and upper necks are veneered with ebony, with a white/black/white decoration on the edges. The fingeboard is made of ebony. Pegs and button are made of ebony.
